Sometimes we feel like we’ve lost control in life, whether that be at home, in our friendships and relationships, or in our work. It can be hard to be kind to ourselves or our loved ones in these moments and we can feel stuck not knowing what to do next. I tailor my approach to meet the needs of each individual client. I’m the kind of person who thinks best outloud and processes things by talking it through but I know that doesn’t work for everyone. I meet my clients where they’re at and move at their pace. I work from a trauma-informed lens. My goal is to create a safe environment where we both feel comfortable showing up authentically. I bring kindness, humour, and curiosity into the relationship. I’m passionate about exploring the yearnings under our behaviours and finding productive ways to meet our needs, without judging our past or current coping tools.

There is no denying that life can be difficult sometimes and that no one escapes emotional and psychological wounds. Due to the fact that these wounds are often ‘persona non gratas’, our minds tell us to be combative or to avoid which regretfully can sometimes lead to chaos on one end or rigidity on the other. We must therefore learn healthy ways to approach these ‘guests’ with curiosity and courage as they often times carry with them wisdom which when fully processed and integrated can be liberating. Like the proverbial mother-in-law who shows up unannounced and takes over the kitchen, these psychological wounds no doubt can be intrusive. However, with some patience, courage and adroitness, they can be integrated “into the family” and bring tremendous value to our lives. As a therapist with almost 20 years of working with people and studying human behaviour (including my own), this one thing I have come to know as true: our pain and brokenness can lead to a place of discovery, growth and freedom!

As a relational psychotherapist who believes that mutually satisfying relationships are vital to maintaining optimal emotional health, I approach my work first and foremost from a person centered perspective; while helping clients learn about their wounded and protective parts as well as develop skills that help them integrate their emotions and pivot from the mental traps.

Anthony is a Registered Social worker and a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and the University of Windsor. He has extensive experience providing clinical support to men who are struggling with various life and health challenges as well as supporting individuals and couples dealing with various emotional and psychological difficulties.

People often grow up hearing “use your words” or “help me understand” when it comes to expressing their feelings, as if feelings can be easily translated into words. Sometimes people have trouble making complicated emotions “understood” in words. This means that people often find it hard to tune into how they feel and instead go right to how they think or, more often, how they “should” think. I use movement, somatics, mindfulness, and emotion-based processing to help sort out big feelings, understand emotions when they are beyond words, and process thoughts and feelings through the mind and the body. I empower people to listen to their own bodies, instincts, and impulses to know themselves, know how to cope, and know how to heal. I strive to help clients connect their body and mind so they can
